Call of Duty Black Ops will be the latest installment in Activision’s immensely popular Call of Duty series. The game is planned to be released on PS3, XBOX360, the Wii, Nintendo DS and PC.
The release date is scheduled for 9th November 2010. However, much of the game has already been developed.
The setting of the game is in the Cold War. In fact, Call of Duty games have been set in many different times — the first took place in World War 2, while others like Modern Warfare 2 (the current game in the series) took place in a modern setting.
Hopefully we will see some innovative new weapons and features. One new weapon we’ve heard about that will hopefully make an appearance is a scoped-crossbow that fires explosive arrows, which should be interesting.

Increased the base range of all Automatic and Semiautomatic weapons for more consistent close range combat. Slightly increased the damage of Semiautomatic rifles over long range for more consistent damage output.
Increased the zoomed burst accuracy of LMGs and decreased LMG accuracy when moving to reduce LMG run and gun. Decreased the base damage of the M60 and XM8 LMGs to bring them in line with the other LMG damage values. Decreased the damage of the PKM over long range to balance it with other LMGs. Increased the base damage of the Type88 LMG to balance it with other LMGs.
Slightly reduced the base damage of the M16 and G3 to balance the increased range. Slightly increased the damage of the AEK971, F2000, AN94, and AUG over long range to balance them with other Assault Rifles.
Reduced the lethal blast range of the 40mm grenade and M2CG to highlight their role as a secondary weapon against infantry. Slightly Reduced the max range of the 40mm shotgun to balance it with other shotguns. Slightly increased the base damage of shotgun rounds and reduced their range to clarify ideal shotgun combat distance.
Reduced the base damage of the PP2000 to balance the increased range. Increased the damage of the 9A91 over long range to balance its lower magazine size.
Increased the damage and range of the M9, M93 pistols to make them more desirable as a secondary weapon. Increased the range of the MP443 pistol to make it more desirable as a secondary weapon. Increased the damage of the MP412 over long range to balance its low rate of fire. Slightly reduced the rate of fire of the M1911 pistol to balance it with other pistols.
Increased the repair and overheat speeds of the Power Tool. Now overheats sooner but repairs the same amount before overheating. Increased the maximum number of Motion Sensors that can be carried from 2 to 3 and increased the speed which new sensors are acquired from ammo boxes. Significantly increased the speed of the Tracer Dart projectile to make it more effective against airborne targets. Increased the reload time of the Mortar Strike and reduced the damage it does to heavily armored vehicles. Decreased the range of Bolt Action Sniper and Pump Shotgun Slug rounds when using Magnum Ammo for better Kit Balance, especially in Hardcore. Slightly increased the Health of soldiers in Hardcore for better Kit Balance.
Increased the benefit from the Medkit Heal+ specialization to make it more desirable as a Specialization. Decreased the benefit from Vehicle Reload Speed to balance it against other Vehicle Specializations. Slightly decreased the benefit from accuracy specializations to balance the changes to range and accuracy tweaks.
Fixed a bug where the BMD3 would take extra damage to the front armor. Reduced the explosive damage from Attack Helicopter cannons. Increased the damage of AA guns against all targets. The AA gun should be much more effective against infantry on Port Valdez.

Been Playing the game since it has come out I am not the greatest player and By far I am not the worst. What I want out of this thread is to give New Players of the game A head start on the best way to Play this game and get rank faster. First you start off with low end weapons honestly the fastest way to get better weapons is in sniper mode. Second keep in mind that when you kill some one take there kit if, there higher rank than you they probably have better weapons. Third Camp the objective you get great scores from stopping the other team from completing objectives. Fourth Be a team player you need to have a medic and engineer in as well as assault to really be affective in this game as a team. And as with any game warn your team of enemy’s or that you had died. Here is my last advice If you are playing rush you don’t have to just Set the bomb off you can also blow the objective up it gets you more Points you only get 30 points to set the bomb you get 50 each time you Do damage to it keep this in mind.
Mouse/Joystick Issues For sticky/laggy mouse issues:
* Disable mouse acceleration in the game's mouse settings, and turn off Vsync in the graphics settings.
To fix sticky controls (for those who get key shadow/lag with wasd etc):
* Delete the joystick controls under foot (options->controls->foot), then it works fine
Mouse is way off in game:
* Looks like the game has a conflict with desktop DPI scaling in Windows Vista and 7. Just to clarify, this is nothing to do with mouse DPI — I'm talking about the visual DPI of the OS. If you have a higher operating system DPI set (very common if you play on a TV) the menus will become almost unusable, with the cursor not reflecting what'll actually be clicked — the click zone ends up considerably to the left of the cursor, making clicking stuff on the right third of the menus impossible. This can be rectified on the user side by going here or where ever game is installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield bad company 2 beta Right click BFBC2Game.exe, then Properties, then Compatibility, and tick Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
To Fix Yaw Left/Right On Joysticks (from Necromancer on Steam) 1. Open Documents\BFBC2\Input\air.dbx with Notepad 2. Search for the string ConceptYaw 3. Below it look for this section: Code:
4. On the line <field>1</field> change 1 to -1 You can't look up-down and/or left-right - "my mouse isn't working"
* You've accidentally bound something to the axes that BF2 uses for looking around. - Reset your controls to fix this - In future, when binding things to your mouse, pay close attention; if you move the mouse at all while binding, it will register & bind that horizontal or vertical movement axes, replacing your look ones.
* make sure you have the latest drivers esp video drivers * make sure you are running the program as an administrator (running steam as administrator too) * change DXversion to 9 in settings.ini
2) Low FPS
* adjust your settings.ini files as instructed (dxversion, shadows, resolution, sound, renderforward etc)
3)Connectivity Problems or Server List with very few servers
* Open Your ports * check your firewall and antivirus
4) Getting Kicked by Punkbuster (from BFBC2 Forums)
* Reinstall Punkbuster * If you’re using Steam, go to File, Settings, In-Game Tab and uncheck Enable Steam Community In-Game. * Go into your installation directory for BC2 (default for xp: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\ or win7: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\). Check to see if the following exists
* Download the lates version of pbsetup and when unpacked, transfer the pbsetup.exe to the desktop o Delete the PB folder in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2 - BETA o Run PBSETUP from the desktop and add BFBC2 o If you recieve an error towards the end of the update where it’s something along the lines of: o “HTM MD5s do not match security information. Please try updating again later” o Check your antivirus software for quarantined items associated with punkbuster.
5) Extreme brightness and glare esp from water
* Turn off bloom in settings.ini * update your driver
6) Connection lost , can't join games or see friends online, any other server browser problems
* Try closing BFBC2 and opening it up again (make sure it closes as it always doesn't) * delete all values for Recent Games and Favorites in your gamesettings.ini file in your mydoc BFBC2 folder * Also try manually updating your game by going to your bc2 install folder and running eaupdater.exe or bfbc2update.exe
